BRASIL RIDE - 2017
From October , Southern Bahia will host the biggest mountain bike challenge in the Americas! Bikers will start from the coast region, known as the Discovery Coast, place where the Portuguese first arrived in Brazil in 1500, and will continue towards the countryside, covering the mountains which divides the states of Bahia and Minas Gerais, and will return to the coast to receive the desired finisher flag.
It will be seven days in a perfect setting and the greatest experience of your lives!
The structure, compared only to the biggest ultra marathons of the world, will provide everything that is necessary – water, food, accommodation, technical support , while they care only about they most like to do, pedal. Each day of the competition will have in media 80 to 100 kilometers of the purest mountain bike by the ways open on the diamond mining of the eighteenth century.
The real challenger of this competition is not only to win, but the knowledge, live the sport, overcome limits and get the closer of nature that can be. Side by side, the lovers of sport and the stars of the MTB, national and worldwide, will hold this journey by the heart of Brazil. On the cross-country, at the dinner table, on the camp, the fraternization, the experience exchange with athletes will be one of the pillars of the event.
Disputed always in Teams, Brasil Ride will open in categories: Open, Mixed, Ladies, Master (none athlete less than 40 years old), Grand Master (none athlete less than 50 years old), Nelore (above 90 kilos eatch rider) and Corporate Category (3 members, none athlete less than 35 years old). “Begin searching your partner cause the vacancies are limited” warns the organizer and ultra marathon Mario Roma.
Besides those six categories, there is also a Special Jersey, the American Jersey Man and American Jersey Ladies, both independent on wich categorie the team is registred. This award is open to all teams, although, the team members may have their passaport in possession, whose passaports must be from the american continent (North, Central or South).

An early buffet breakfast is served. Race nutrition, water and isotonic carbohydrate drinks are freely available at water points throughout the route. Trained medical staff are on course and a fully-equipped race hospital is in operation at the various Race Villages. At each stage finish line riders' bikes are cleaned by the Bike Wash team while the chill Zone restores energy levels with lunch and snacks.
Stage rider bags are transported between the different Race Villages. Single-person tents with mattresses are provided, where exhausted riders can rest and enjoy a comfortable night's sleep. Enclosed shower units with shower heads offer riders a relaxing shower after a grueling day in the saddle.
In the Brasil Ride Lounge riders can find luxuries such as: complimentary beverages, local and international newspapers, flat screen TVs, massages, free internet connectivity.
The Chill Zone is the perfect place to unwind, enjoy a cold beer, swap race stories and mingle with supporters and fellow riders after a hard day of racing.
At the end of each day the Evening Presentation provides riders with a sumptuous dinner buffet, local entertainment as well as video and photographic highlights from the stage.
Since then, the Brasil Ride has qualified as S1 Category event for both professional men and women contenders.
